Scott Hamilton was an American figure skater who won the men’s figure skating gold medal at the 1984 Olympics and was a four-time world champion. He is recognized for imparting an element of athleticism to men’s figure skating.
To show figure skating as a sport, he competed in the 1983 World Championships wearing a sleek black speed-skating outfit instead of the traditional beaded and sequined costumes worn by his competitors.

Scott Hamilton is indeed still alive. According to the NHL, the gold medalist currently heads the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy at the Ford Ice Centers in Antioch and Bellevue, Tennessee
Hamilton launched numerous charitable and educational organizations, including the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (Cancer Alliance for Research, Education, and Survivorship) and Chemocare.com, after struggling with health challenges for much of his life. Supporting treatment research, he frequently attends charity events such as An Evening with Scott Hamilton & Friends.

Where is Scott Hamilton at Present?
The former skater and his wife, Tracie, and their four children have relocated to Tennessee. In 2014, they adopted their children Jean-Paul and Evelyne from Haiti. In 2012, his wife met them when visiting an orphanage in the country.
His biological children are Maxx and Aidan. Scott was an adoptive child himself (via Today). Sheryl Crow, the singer of “Everyday Is a Winding Road,” is his neighbor in Nashville; their families have become friends, he told People magazine, and Crow has performed at his foundation’s benefit events.

His prolonged struggle with cancer has broadened his outlook. According to WBUR, Scott Hamilton lost his mother to breast cancer when he was a young man. “And when you’re 18, you have nothing to compare this event to, and it’s heartbreaking, you know?” Scott addressed the media outlet.

According to WebMD, as an adult he battled testicular cancer and two brain tumors; in fact, his diminutive size was caused by a brain tumor in his adolescence that was wrongly diagnosed as cystic fibrosis. He later learned (via SoKy Happenings). Once, Hamilton told People magazine, “I have the unusual hobby of collecting fatal diseases.”
