Who Died at the End of the Second Season of Vikings: Valhalla?
Several major and minor characters die in the last episode of season 2. Olaf is killed by Freydis after she and Jorundr trick the pagan hunter and burn all of his ships in the harbour. This is the most important thing that happens.

Freydis beats Olaf in a final battle by stabbing him in the middle. Olaf says he will die as a Christian martyr, but Freydis points out (correctly) that no one will be alive to tell his story. No one knows how Harald, his half-brother and the father of Freydis’s child, will react to the news. It could make things worse between the two, though.
Jorundr and Mariam were the other two people who died in the final episode. Harker’s son died a hero’s death when he helped the settlement of Jomsborg fight back against Olaf’s fleet. Mariam, on the other hand, died of a long-term illness, but not before giving Leif some new ideas about how to live his life.
Will Kattegat Be at Peace?
At the end of the season, two mothers say they are at peace with each other. Now that Freydis is back in Kattegat, he wants Queen Aelfgifu and the Norwegian forces to stop fighting.
It looks like “mother to mother,” she gets what she wants, making this one of the more clear-cut endings in a season that has spent a lot of time setting up future plots. But there are still some unknowns. King Svein, Canute, and Forkbeard might not want peace now that Olaf is dead.
Where are Leif and Harald?
Leif and Harald finally get to Constantinople, where they were going. The capital of the Byzantine Empire is the farthest from home that the Vikings have travelled. There, they will have a nice life and make more money.

The pair might want to go home, but it’s still not clear if they’ll go back to Scandinavia or stay in the port city. If nothing else, expect Constantinople to be a big part of the third season of Vikings: Valhalla, which will take place in the farthest parts of the known world at the time.
Does Harald love Elena?
Harald falls in love with Elena, who has a secret of her own. He may feel betrayed because Freydis didn’t tell him she was pregnant.
At the end of the season, we learn that Elena was going to Constantinople to become the new Empress with Emperor Romanos. Still, she makes it clear to Harald that their relationship isn’t over. Harald will have to risk angering an empire to get Elena back if he really loves her. In the next season, we’ll find out whether or not he thinks it’s worth the risk.
Did Godwin Get What He Wanted?
Yes, but he feels bad about the way he got it. Valhalla is at its most complicated in Godwin’s story. Because the Earl of Wessex is always lying, it’s hard to know what to believe at face value.
During the season, there was an attempt to kill Queen Emma, but it was stopped. The suspect turned out to be the long-lost half-brother of Godwin’s future wife, Aelfwynn. She is then tortured and killed because she won’t say anything about the plan.
Here is where things start to get a little unclear. Even though Godwin is sad, it becomes clear that he seems to have planned things from the beginning so that King Canute would set him up with his niece Gytha out of kindness. From there, a future son can be part of the royal bloodline and fulfil his dream of having a child sit on the English throne.
Emma, on the other hand, knows everything about Godwin’s role, including the fact that he was taught by the man who “hired” the killer.

So, Emma knows about Godwin’s history and past. Even if he becomes a member of the royal family, the current queen will always have a way to keep the Earl of Wessex in line if she needs to. You can expect to learn more about this relationship next season, especially if Emma needs someone to get their hands dirty.
What is the Ring That Gytha Has Around Her Neck?
Later, the Queen gave Godwin’s new wife Gytha a ring that she should always wear around her neck. Emma took the ring from the body of Godwin’s guardian John Fletcher, also known as “The Bear.” It’s a reminder that Emma knows Godwin’s darkest secrets, and Gytha can’t take them off, so they will always be with him. Even though Godwin tried his best, he is to blame for the deaths of two people close to him, and Emma will never let him forget it.
