Joseph “Jo” Mersa Marley is no longer with us. He was the son of Grammy-winning musician Stephen Marley and the grandson of legendary reggae musician Bob Marley. On Tuesday, he died.

Jo Mersa Marley Death
The sad news that Joseph Marley, grandson of Bob Marley, had died was first shared by journalist Abka Fitz-Henley in a tweet. A report from WZPP Radio says that the musician was “found unresponsive in his car.”
A radio station in South Florida, WZPP, said that Joseph’s sudden death was caused by an asthma attack. Joseph went to heaven on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, when he was 31 years old.
About Joseph Marley
Joseph Marley was born on March 12, 1991, in Jamaica. Rolling Stone says that Jo spent his early years in Jamaica. When he was 11, he moved to Miami. He went to high school in Palmetto.
Marley went to Miami Dade College soon afterwards to study studio engineering. He was exposed to music early on because his father, Stephen Marley, was one of the 11 children of the late reggae artist Bob Marley who followed in his footsteps.

When she was in middle school, Jo Mersa began to write music. In 2010, he released his first song, “My Girl.” It was a project he worked on with his cousin Daniel Bambaata Marley. In 2014, he put out his first EP, Comfortable. In 2021, he put out his second EP, Eternal.
Bob Marley’s Grandson- Joseph Marley
You did read that correctly. Joseph Marley was the grandson of Bob Marley, who was known as a reggae movement pioneer and a reggae legend. Everything’s Gonna Be All Right, Get Up, Stand Up, I Shot the Sheriff and Is This Love are all well-known songs by Bob.
Bob Marley died of melanoma in 1981, when he was 36 years old. The singer of “Could You Be Loved” had 11 children with seven different women. In a previous interview with Pier, Joseph told him what it meant to have a last name.
Joseph talked about not feeling pressure from his last name and said, “There are things you have to get over and things you just have to do. We have to live our lives, right? I’m not under any kind of stress. I’m grateful to be a Marley. I’m very grateful that God put me where he did and that I was born where I was. I’m very grateful and proud of it.”
