The good news is that we shouldn’t have to wait as long for season 7 of Rick and Morty as we did for some of the other seasons. Worse news? Well, it’s not here right now *belch*.
And while looking for Rick Prime may have killed our Rick in the past, it looks like Rick will have a better chance after this season. When a mad scientist has enough fights with Morty and goes to therapy, he finally learns that he needs to ask for help.
Unlike most upcoming TV seasons that fans talk about, Rick and Morty season 7 is definitely going to happen. Adult Swim ordered 70 episodes of the show in 2018. If the show keeps going at its current rate of 10 episodes per season, that would bring the chaotic universe-surfing duo to the end of their 10th season. And, well, you should expect more.
Now that we know these things, let’s talk about what we know about Rick and Morty season 7.
Rick and Morty Season 7 Release Date
We think that season 7 of Rick and Morty will come out in 2023. We have more details, but that’s the most important news. This is because showrunner Dan Harmon told The Wrap last August that “we’ll be doing a season a year now.”
This is great news for fans and the network AdultSwim because we all remember the long breaks between seasons 2 (which ended in October 2015) and 3 (which began in April 2017) and between seasons 3 (which ended in October 2017) and 4. (starting Nov. 2019).
The time between seasons 4 and 5 (May 2020 to June 2021) and seasons 5 and 6 (September 2021 to September 2022) shows that the team has been able to pick up the pace.

Based on these ranges and Harmon’s idea that there should be a new season every year, Rick and Morty season 7 should come out in December 2023.
Who will be in the Cast of Rick and Morty Season 7?
Well, the thing about Rick and Morty is that the cast is a universe of weirdos that keeps growing, with different versions of Rick and the Smith family. Rick Prime (Weird Rick), Evil Morty, and Space Beth are the three most well-known ones.

This means that only four voice actors will be back:
- Justin Roiland as Rick Sanchez, Weird Rick, Morty Smith and Evil Morty
- Spencer Grammer as Summer Smith
- Sarah Chalke as Beth Smith and Space Beth
- Chris Parnell as Jerry Smith
Still, we expect one more cast member to come back. It would be strange if The President, Rick and Morty’s unnamed president, didn’t come back. So, Keith David will probably come back on the ride to judge Rick and Morty for what they did.
What will happen in Rick and Morty Season 7?
In the last episode of Rick and Morty season 6, Rick gave Morty a sneak peek at “Rick and Morty season 7” in his own words. Rick talked incoherently “In Season 7 of Rick and Morty. Looking for my enemy. Maybe he’s trying to stay healthy and juggle things at the same time. This might not be happening in every episode, Morty. It could be going on in the background. Who can say?”
Even though Robot Rick died in the finale, sacrificing himself to save The President, we don’t think that was the last robot version of Mr. Sanchez.

But after The President walked out of Rick’s garage with his body still intact, Rick told Morty all of the above. The mission for season 7 is simple: find Rick Prime and bring him to justice for killing our Rick’s Diane.
