Information presentation on iOS-based mobile devices has developed alongside the platform itself. Exhibit A: the disappearance of the always-present battery % display. But today, there are three different ways to check out that statistic.
Notch-equipped iPhone owners may have observed that their device’s battery indicator, located in the upper-right corner of the display, misrepresents the remaining charge. In the settings menu, Apple provides a toggle for enabling the feature on non-notch iPhones, but if your iPhone has a notch, you won’t find this option.
Luckily, we’ve laid out a few options for monitoring your iPhone’s battery life even after upgrading to iOS 11. If you want to know how they function, read on. In this piece, I’ll explain the 13th-generation iPhone’s three options for displaying battery life.
Accessing the iPhone’s Settings Menu
The first is to use the iPhone’s Settings menu. Simply slide down from the battery icon to accomplish this. You might need to manually unlock the phone before using Face ID.
When you swipe down from the battery icon, Control Center will appear. The icon and percentage of remaining battery life have been moved to the upper right corner.
Including a Power Widget
My personal favorite is the second option because it eliminates the need for swipes. Battery life may be monitored via a widget that can be placed on the home screen. The battery widget on the iPad displays the current battery status of the Apple Pencil, and it can be customized to display the battery percentage for other devices like your AirPods.
When using an iPhone, you can access the widgets gallery by holding down the home button for a few seconds. Check the upper left corner as the icons begin to jiggle. Use the plus sign that has been shown. After opening the widgets gallery, look for the Batteries widget near the bottom of the page.
There are three distinct layouts available, each with its own set of advantages and drawbacks based on the level of detail you require and the number of compatible accessories you already own (such as AirPods). You can swipe left and right to see the other widgets, and then, once you’ve made your choice, select Add Widget to add it to your home screen.

Ask Siri
You can also ask Siri, Apple’s hard-working, never-complaining personal assistant. Either press and hold the side power button for a few seconds, or speak “Hey Siri” to activate Siri (depending on your Siri settings). Just say anything to Siri like, “Hey, Siri, how much % of battery do I have left?” or similar wording. She will promptly provide you with the data you require, just like a skilled employee who has it all at their fingertips.
