The Mortal Instruments series is based on the same-named novel by Cassandra Clare. If you recognise the title, it’s presumably because you saw the 2013 film ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.’
The series aired on Freeform on January 12, 2016. Netflix has also acquired the film for worldwide distribution.

“‘Shadowhunters’ has visual thrills and a potentially lucrative concept, but they are insufficient to counterbalance the program’s self-serious silliness and repetitive, convoluted plots,” critics noted, despite the show’s nomination for many awards, including a GLAAD Award.

On March 20, 2018, the third season of ‘Shadowhunters‘ debuted. We have some unpleasant news for fans in the next season. The sitcom was cancelled by Freeform due to the economic crisis and low viewership.
The showrunners voiced their disappointment at the show’s abrupt discontinuation. According to Vanity Fair, they had a lot of ideas for the series’ various couplings and wanted to develop them gradually to bring out their depth of significance.

They were forced to tie up all of the events when Season 3 finished since the show was terminated.

Shadowhunters Season 4 Plot
In ‘Shadowhunters,’ Clary Fray begins her first year at the Brooklyn Academy of the Arts. She discovers she is a Shadowhunter, a human with angelic blood who battles demons, on her 18th birthday.
The Circle, a renegade Shadowhunters group, kidnaps Clary’s mother the same night. Clary seeks aid from Luke, the person in whom she has the most faith, after learning of her mother’s kidnapping, but to no effect.
Clary then joins forces with a gang of Shadowhunters to rescue her mother and realises she has abilities she didn’t know she had prior.

Clary is introduced to the world of demon hunting alongside the mysterious, narcissistic, and alluring Shadowhunter Jace and his steadfast and geeky friend Simon, among Seelies, vampires, warlocks, and werewolves, where she embarks on a journey of self-discovery as she learns about her past and what her future holds.
The show’s aesthetics are breathtaking, and almost every scene is well filmed. However, it is impossible not to observe how much it caters to the desires of youngsters.
It’s one of a slew of programmes focused on hormonal adolescent girls, with the purpose of making them feel unique in a way that the rest of the world doesn’t get. As a consequence, almost every character on the programme now looks fantastic.
Despite McNamara’s dramatic performance, the episode as a whole is underwhelming, as the series hardly scratches the surface of the original material’s enormous intricacy.

While the sword battles have an old-world charm, the animation may sometimes get a touch too ludicrous and serious, making the campy parts nearly uncomfortable.
