The cakes and pies from Kevin Love and Kate Bock’s wedding are the only things sweeter than their love story!
On June 25, the NBA player and model got hitched at the New York Public Library. The couple presented two desserts that focused on family at the wedding.
Bock’s grandparents’ wedding topper was on a three-tier, show-stopping vegan cake from Brooklyn-based bakery Lael Cakes.
The vintage topper was the real star of the show because the olive oil cake was very lightly adorned with white lemon icing.
There was a second dessert for visitors who enjoyed chocolate and honored Love’s family.
His grandmother used to bake him a chocolate pie that they affectionately called Grandmother Carol’s Chocolate Pie, which the newlyweds served.
The pie has a delicious chocolate filling and a crumbly chocolate crust, and it is topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
The pie is the present that keeps on giving because each visitor received a package of miniature chocolate pies along with Grandma Carol’s recipe.
On a table with pictures of Bock’s grandmother Edna and grandfather Eddie, as well as Love’s grandmother Carol, both pastries were on exhibit.
According to Bock, the couple transformed the historic New York City venue into a “Great Gatsby-inspired event” with the aid of their wedding planner Marcy Blum.
All visitors were instructed to dress in black and white.
A Caesar salad, grilled asparagus, and either truffle or parmesan French fries were on the dinner menu for the all-star guests, who also included Rich Paul and Adele, Love’s former Cavaliers colleague LeBron James, and them. Guests had a choice of branzino, grilled steak, or cauliflower steak for the main course.

Throughout the course of the event, attendees sipped Chosen Family Wines, Mot champagne, Off Hour’s bourbon, and Lobos 1707 tequila.
The bride and groom’s elegant attire was another highlight of the event. Bock swapped her lacey Ralph Lauren gown and accompanying cathedral-length veil for a silk ensemble for the reception.

The athlete changed from his ceremony cream jacket and tuxedo pants into a black suit for the reception. Love wore custom Ralph Lauren clothes for the wedding and reception.
