Our Flag Means Death Season 2: Release Date
We don’t know when the second season of Our Flag Means Death will come out. We do know, though, that a second season is definitely coming. In 2022, the renewal was announced on the official HBO Max Twitter account with a short clip and the caption “Season 2 is officially setting sail.”
Waititi told Collider in June 2022 that the crew plans to start filming the next episode in October. If everything goes as planned, season 2 of Our Flag Means Death should be out in the first half of 2023.
Who will be in the Cast of Our Flag Means Death Season 2?
It looks like most of the main cast will be back for the second season of Our Flag Means Death. Rhys Darby will come back as Stede Bonnet, and Taika Waititi will come back as Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard.

We can also expect to see the regular crew members again, like Ewen Bremner as Nathaniel Buttons and Samson Kayo as the trustworthy Oluwande Boodhari. On the enemy side, Con O’Neill will be back as Izzy, who whispers in Blackbeard’s ear, and we think Leslie Jones will be back as Spanish Jackie, who has 19 husbands and is the most powerful pirate captain.
What Will Happen in the Our Flag Means Death Season 2?
So, what will the gentleman pirate do next? Well, season 2 of Our Flag Means Death doesn’t have an official plot summary yet. But because season 1 ended with so many cliffhangers, we can start to guess what the new episode will be about.
Our Flag Means Season 1 We have a lot of questions and emotional story threads that need to be wrapped up because of death. After many adventures, Stede and Blackbeard were almost caught by the king’s law.
Blackbeard and Stede said they loved each other, but they couldn’t be together because of bad luck. Blackbeard went back to being a scary tyrant when he thought that everyone had left him.
At the end of the season, Blackbeard left half of Stede’s crew on an island and set sail with a broken heart. During all of this, Stede was back “home” with his wife, who was already seeing someone else and wasn’t too happy to see him again.

While his “widow” tries to kill him, Stede finally sits her down for a talk. The two of them help him realise that he was meant to live on the sea and that he loved Blackbeard very much.
Stede and his wife make it look like he died, and the man sets sail again. The stranded crewmembers we talked about earlier are lucky that Stede comes to save them before they start eating each other.
It’s not clear how this reunion will go, since Blackbeard still thinks Stede left him, and he’s acting pretty violently because of his broken heart… let’s all pray for Stede’s safety. We also don’t think Blackbeard’s right-hand man, Izzy, would be too happy about Stede coming back, given how he feels about his captain.

We also have to see how Stede actually saves his crew and how they get a new ship while avoiding all of their enemies. Even though we don’t know what will happen in season 2, it looks like Blackbeard and Stede’s love story will again be the main focus of the show. We can’t wait to see how their relationship develops.
