As the original show’s creators, Matt Groening and David X. Cohen along with Billy West and Katey Sagal will reprise their roles in the new series.
On Hulu, the third platform for Futurama, Matt Groening, and David Cohen have revived the show for a 20-episode run.
Production on the Comedy Central revival of the Fox series that ran for five seasons before being resurrected for three more starts this month.
Billy West (Fry), Katey Sagal (Leela), Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, and David Herman will all return after a lengthy deal-making period.
Currently, there is an agreement in place for John DiMaggio to reprise his role as Bender, the sarcastic robot with the “shiny metal ass.”
At the prospect of another chance to ponder the future… or really anything other than the present, Cohen expressed excitement.
“It’s truly an honor to announce the triumphant return of Futurama one more time before we get canceled abruptly again,” Groening said.

Futurama was created by The Simpsons mastermind Groening and was intended to air on Sundays as a companion to the long-running animated series.
However, the network aired its first season on Tuesdays before a series of scheduling changes ultimately doomed the show.
Although Groening’s studio, 20th Television, had full ownership of the show, it had refused to support it for years, despite Groening’s repeated complaints to the network. Fox canceled Futurama at the end of the year 2003.
ViacomCBS-owned Comedy Central resurrected the series in 2007 by airing four direct-to-DVD movies on Comedy Central in 30-minute episodes. Because of the show’s popularity, Comedy Central decided to bring it back for additional seasons in the middle of 2010.
The show was renewed for a second season in late 2013 after seven seasons and 140 episodes on two networks.
New Futurama episodes will be available to fans and viewers on Hulu and ABC, according to the head of originals at Hulu and ABC, Craig Erwich.
Our team is excited to see Matt and David continue to set the standard for success in adult animation and further establish Hulu as the go-to destination for those who enjoy this type of content.
Hulu’s original animated series roster will include Animaniacs, Solar Opposites, and Crossing Swords.

Family Guy, Rick and Morty, and Bob’s Burgers as well as South Park and the original Futurama are all adult animation library shows that Hulu’s most popular shows.
These shows have grown in popularity due to the fact that they are easy to rewatch and have devoted fan bases.
For Marci Proietto, the head of the animation at 20th Television Animation, a company that creates animated content for television, “I love animation because successful shows can be put on hold and then resume years later on another platform and pick up right where they left off,” It’s one of those shows, in my view.

This is good news for both long-time fans and newcomers alike.
Beavis & Butthead, Daria spinoff Jodie, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Clone High, and King of the Hill, which has yet to be officially announced as an adult animated series, will all be joining forces with Futurama in the near future as well.
Creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, best known for their work on Beavis & Butthead and King of the Hill, has recently formed an animation studio to help the genre expand into new, more experimental tones and styles in response to the growing market for adult-oriented animation.
Bandera, the company they run, is currently working on more than a dozen adult animated series of its own.
In spite of their higher production costs, ad*lt animated series are still a popular choice for both reboots and new series, even though they are more expensive to produce. However, the pandemic has had little effect on animated series.
Multibillion-dollar franchises for shows such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, or Rick and Morty are a good sign.
In addition to seven Annie Awards and two WGA Awards, Futurama won two Outstanding Animated Programs and six Outstanding Comedy Series awards during its original run.
Groening and Cohen will have three animated series to choose from when Futurama debuts, joining The Simpsons on Fox and Disenchantment on Netflix.
