Denise Williams was born in West Virginia’s Point Pleasant. She earned her Diploma in Nursing in 1983 from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Huntington, West Virginia, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1989 from West Virginia University.
In 1988, she received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. Since 1999, she has been board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Since 1999, she has been a part of the team.

Denise Williams was arrested at Florida State University minutes after a grand jury indicted her on counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to conduct first-degree murder, and accessory after the fact, as she was leaving work to celebrate her daughter’s 19th birthday. Prosecutors continued to conceal facts of the crime, claiming they would reveal them in court at the appropriate moment. They did state that they would attempt to have her bail denied.
A judge has resentenced Denise Williams to 30 years in prison for conspiring to murder her first husband. Since Mike Williams’s disappearance more than two decades ago, the Williams case has been ongoing.
In 2016, Brian Winchester, the then-husband of Denise Williams, was arrested for her kidnapping. In exchange for immunity from prosecution, he confessed to murdering Mike Williams in October 2017 while serving a 20-year term. Winchester informed detectives that he murdered Mike Williams by enticing him on a hunting trip, shooting him at Lake Seminole, and then drowning him.

Michael and Denise Williams were high school sweethearts who wed and lived in Tallahassee, Florida, where they appeared to live a charming and tranquil existence. They were close friends with the Winchesters, Brian, and Kathy. Michael and Brian were really close buddies.
Mike went duck hunting on December 16, 2000, and never returned. This prompted authorities to conduct a thorough investigation. After days of searching, investigators speculated that Michael may have fallen into the lake by accident and been devoured by alligators.
Soon thereafter, investigators pronounced him dead, resulting in Denise receiving significant insurance. Michael’s mother, Cheryl, was the only one who continued to fight for justice, saying that her son was the victim of foul play. 2004 was the year that her persistent efforts prompted the police to investigate the case as a homicide.
Denise married Brian Winchester in 2005 after he had divorced his previous wife. Michael’s absence would have remained a secret if not for the volatility in their relationship that triggered a chain reaction that led to the revelation of the truth.
Winchester was convicted of kidnapping Denise at gunpoint after she filed for divorce in a remarkable turn of events. As their relationship deteriorated and Denise threatened to turn him into the police, Winchester voluntarily confessed to the authorities in exchange for immunity. He was charged with kidnapping at gunpoint, but not with Michael’s death.
He also promised to testify in court against Denise Williams. He was the case’s star witness. He disclosed that his affair with Denise lasted over three years. One time, they allegedly discussed their spouses’ deaths. This discussion snowballed into a complex strategy.

Winchester went Mike duck hunting the morning of his disappearance and shoved him off the boat. Winchester shot him when he did not die. He subsequently buried the remains in a remote region.
