When will the movie The Avengers: Secret Wars come out? Fans of Marvel movies got the news they’d been waiting for since 2008 at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Secret Wars, which is the most important crossover in the history of Marvel comics, is finally being turned into a movie by Marvel Studios.
There are two Secret Wars stories, but they are similar in many ways. In the first event, the Avengers, X-Men, Spider-Man, and a few other Marvel characters are taken to an alien world and forced to fight for the amusement of a god-like being. In the second, which we think will be made into a movie by Marvel Studios, the multiverse is destroyed, and our heroes try to fix it.
So, what will Secret Wars look like in the MCU? Well, to answer this question, we’ve looked all over the Internet and read the holy books (aka, we went through our old comic books). Here’s what we know about when Avengers: Secret Wars will come out. There might be spoilers ahead!
Avengers: Secret Wars Release Date
On May 1, 2026, Avengers: Secret Wars will be in theatres. The movie was supposed to come out on November 7, 2025, but it was pushed back because of problems with Blade’s production.

Since Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars are both coming out around the same time, it’s likely that they will both shoot at the same time. We know that Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the fifth Avengers movie, but as of August 2022, no one has been named to direct Secret Wars.
Who could be in the Avengers: Secret Wars?
Jonathan Majors as He Who Remains, which is a different name for Kang. Disney+ and Marvel Studios haven’t said who will be in Avengers: Secret Wars or The Kang Dynasty yet, but there are some characters who seem like safe bets.
For example, it’s likely that Jonathan Majors will play the time-travelling villain Kang The Conquerer in both movies, as long as he doesn’t lose in the first one.
We can also expect to see all of the important Avengers characters, like Captain America (Anthony Mackie), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in some way.
It’s also possible that these movies will be the first time that Marvel’s Disney Plus characters, like Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight and Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk, appear on the big screen.

Lastly, since this movie is the last part of what is being called “The Multiverse Saga,” we can’t say for sure that there won’t be more cameos from earlier Marvel franchises like Fox’s X-Men and Sony’s Spider-Man.
What will happen in Avengers: Secret Wars?
Since Secret Wars will come out only six months after Kang Dynasty, we think the two movies will be related. We’re just guessing, but we think that, like Infinity War, Kang Dynasty will end with a disaster that the Avengers will have to fix in Secret Wars.
Based on the source material, it’s possible that this cataclysm will have something to do with the Incursions mentioned at the end of Multiverse of Madness. When these deadly disasters happen, things from different dimensions crash into each other and kill all life in the universe.
If Secret Wars is like the comics, these things will keep happening until the whole multiverse is gone. Then, a powerful being (likely Kang, but we haven’t ruled out Doctor Doom either) will glue together the last few pieces of reality, and the Avengers will try to fix things.

That, or Marvel will just do their own thing as they did with Civil War and Infinity War. It’s hard to say where Marvel will go next, but if Michael Waldron, who wrote Doctor Strange 2, writes the superhero movie, he’ll probably want to go big.
Is there a Trailer for Avengers: Secret Wars?
Not yet! Marvel has only released a logo for the movie so far, and since it won’t come out until late 2025, a trailer is probably a long way off.
