Season three of The Bay premiered on ITV today following the success of its two previous seasons.
Having watched the first two seasons with a combined audience of over seven million people, we are eagerly anticipating the third.
This season, the show introduces a new protagonist. Morven Christie (who played DS Lisa Armstrong) has been replaced as Morecambe CID’s Family Liaison Officer by a new character.
It also means that a new character named Morecambe has been introduced to us, who comes with her own set of problems and a unique past! You can see the entire third season of The Bay right here.
‘The Bay’ Season 3 Premiere Date
The Bay returned to ITV on January 12 at 9 p.m. after a two-year absence. On ITV Hub, you can now stream the entire season of your favourite shows for those who can’t wait.

ITV has ordered a third season of The Bay, saying that it is “delighted with the audience response” and “looking forward to meeting DS Jenn Townsend, who joins the squad in series 3.”
BritBox currently has the first two seasons of The Bay available in the United States.

Who is set to take the place of Morven Christie in ‘The Bay’?
The new Family Liaison Officer for Morecambe CID will be Detective Sergeant Jenn Townsend, played by Marsha Thomason (Cobra, White Collar). On Instagram, she expressed her excitement about joining the cast of “Game of Thrones,” writing, “overjoyed to join the great cast.”‘

Marsha Thomason, Christie’s successor, has already expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity. I’ve never had the opportunity to play a character like this before! While keeping up with Jen’s professional and personal lives, I felt like I was part of every scene.
Even though this has been my job for years, I’ve never been in charge of anything!’
It was because of this that I had a good understanding of what to expect from both the test and the opportunity,” she said.
Catherine Oldfield, Tall Story Pictures’ Creative Director and Executive Producer of The Bay, said, “Daragh and I have always felt that there are so many brilliant stories to be told in the world of The Bay,” when Morven decided to leave the show.
When Marsha auditioned for the role, the game was over and we had already found our new leader, DS Townsend. Her ability to make these tales come alive has us overjoyed.”
What is the plot of Season 3 of ‘The Bay’?
This season of The Harbor will see DS Townsend “thrown into the deep end on her first day of work,” according to ITV.
She’ll have to enter the heart of a bereaved and complicated family if she wants to find closure for the untimely death of a promising young boxer.
She also needs to get used to working with the group for the sake of her family’s well-being.
“A new beginning may not be as simple as moving from one town to another,” Jenn says as her new blended family struggles to adapt to life in Morecambe.
Daragh Carville (Being Human, The Smoke, Cherrybomb), the show’s writer, will be back when production begins in the spring of 2021, according to Variety.

What happened in the first episode?
A car accident claims the life of DS Jenn Townsend, who was driving her children to school when the accident occurred. She rushes over to the mother of Saif Rahman, who is watching the police remove the body of her son from the scene, as soon as she’s finished with the accident.
In order to assist the Rahman family, DS Karen Hobson assigns her to work with her.
A thorough investigation to identify any leads is immediately launched following Jenn’s formal introduction to the team.
She learns that Saif’s mother was unaware that her son was having an affair with Jenn’s best friend. After getting into a fight outside a new nightclub in town, Saif and his girlfriend were harassed by a group of men.
Upon autopsy, it was determined the man was fatally struck by a blunt object, most likely a baseball bat. Despite being a talented young boxer, however,
Jordan Surveillance footage from outside the club shows Rooney clearly. They discover a bat in Jordan’s apartment during their heist to bring him to the station.
