Montell Jordan has a net worth of $500,000 as a former rapper, composer, and producer in the United States. “This Is How We Do It,” his 1995 hit, is possibly his most well-known work.
Over the years, he worked closely with Def Jam Records, becoming the label’s major male solo artist at one time.
He did, however, leave the music profession in 2010 to concentrate on his work as a born-again Christian. Jordan is presently the worship leader of Georgia’s World Victory Church.

Montell was recruited by Williams Television Time after graduating from college, where he assisted in the creation of different infomercials.
However, he was still set on pursuing a career as a musician in the future. Janet Jackson and Shanice Wilson happened to be in the audience when he invited his employees to see him play.
In 1995, he earned a deal with Def Jam Records after distributing his mixtape and meeting with Russell Simmons. He was the label’s second R&B talent to sign on.
Jordan’s song “This Is How We Do It” hit number one on the charts in 1995 and stayed there for seven weeks.
Montell’s first album sold over a million copies and was certified platinum as a result of the popularity of this track. Montell went on to tour with groups like Boys II Men after this success.
He fell seven feet off the stage during one performance, sustaining no injuries in what he subsequently termed as a “miracle.”

Jordan was far from a one-hit-wonder, with songs like “Somethin’ 4 da Honeyz,” “Let’s Ride,” and “I Like.” These songs, however, did not have the same level of popularity as “This Is How We Do It.” However, “Get It On Tonite” came close, peaking at number four on the charts in 1999.
He also wrote and produced songs for a variety of other musicians at this time, including Christina Milian, 98 Degrees, Shae Jones, and many more.
He also pursued acting roles in films such as “The Fighting Temptations,” “The Nutty Professor,” and others.

Jordan had departed Def Soul by 2003. Later, he claimed that he and the label’s management had significant “artistic disagreements,”, particularly in terms of his appearance.
Instead, he signed a new record deal with Koch Records and released the album “Life After Def” swiftly.
However, this would be the beginning of Montell’s musical career’s demise. He would only release one more song, “Let It Rain,” in 2008, before disappearing from the music scene. Fontana Records published this album.
Montell, on the other hand, continued to make infrequent live appearances and played at a variety of halftime concerts.
He also sang “This Is How We Do It” once more on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” Jordan revealed in 2019 that he will be releasing another R&B album. Later that year, he announced the title of his upcoming album: “The Masterpiece.”

After quitting the music business, Montell decided to pursue a career as a preacher. Following in his parents’ footsteps, he took on a new challenge and joined Victory World Music, a church team.
His music career has been harmed as a result of this. Montell alleges that while fasting at the Victory World Church in 2010, he got a word from God.
God allegedly ordered him to leave the music business totally, and he elected to devote his life fully to his religion at that point.
Victory World Music, on the other hand, went on to record their own album, which included a song featuring Beckah Shae called “Shake Heaven.”
Relationships:

Montell Jordan was married to Kristin Hudson before he joined the music business. This was a problem for Jordan since Def Jam Records was determined to portray him as a sex symbol.
When questioned about his relationship status, he was urged to say things like “I’m married to the music,” which he did. This was also a major factor in Jordan’s ultimate divorce from Def Jam Records, as he wanted to move away from this image and seek a more mature public presence.

Montell Jordan has had a slew of financial problems throughout the years. The IRS was reported to be pursuing $627,000 in overdue taxes in 2012. These taxes are said to have gone underpaid between 1999 and 2001.
Jordan had previously been served with an IRS lien for these payments in 2004, but he had failed to pay the balance.
In light of these revelations, there was considerable speculation that Montell might be compelled to re-enter the music business to pay his debts. He earlier said that he will be retiring from music in order to devote more time to his faith.
