TNT’s critically praised historical drama, ‘The Alienist,’ is based on the Caleb Carr novels. At initially, the thriller was only available as a limited series. Despite this, because to the overwhelming good reaction, the producers decided to make a sequel based on Carr’s written sequel to his first book in the Kreizler series.
The second season, dubbed ‘Angel of Darkness,’ received positive reviews as well. However, since it concluded after such a short run, fans were left wondering whether another season of ‘The Alienist’ will be produced. However, there may be some good news to come!
The Alienist Season 3 Release Date
The second season of ‘The Alienist,’ titled ‘Angel of Darkness,’ premieres on TNT on July 19, 2020. The eighth episode finished on August 9, 2020, after running for two consecutive Sundays.
The channel has yet to make an official announcement on the show’s renewal. The creators did, however, allude to the possibility of a future version.
“We need to wait for Caleb Carr to write a third novel,” showrunner Stuart Carolan said at a TCA panel shortly before the second season’s two-part conclusion. He’s now working on the third book, as far as I’m aware, so we’ll have to wait and see,” Deadline writes.
‘Surrender, New York,’ the next book in the Kreizler series, has already been published. However, the events, in this case, take place in modern-day New York City.

As a consequence, if TNT adapts this novel for television, it will be a spinoff rather than a continuation of the existing plot. There will be no encounters with the current protagonists.
The protagonist of the narrative will be Dr. Trajan Jones, who is inspired by Dr. Laszlo Kreizler. As a result, some of our most beloved characters may only emerge in flashbacks in the future.
We’ll have to wait for Carr to complete his current work, which is set during the same time period as the first two portions of the program, as a result of Carolan’s remark. Season 3 of ‘The Alienist’ is set to premiere on October 11th, 2022.

The Alienist Season 3 Plot
The Alienist’s second season follows a baby abductor who also happens to be a child killer. Despite several deaths, attempted murders, and terrible secrets, Laszlo Kreizler, Sara Howard, and John Moore are eventually able to locate her.

As the trio concludes their investigation, Kreizler heads to Vienna, where John and Sara are divorcing due to John’s fiance’s pregnancy. Because each season is self-contained, the next issue will focus on a new case.
The major puzzle will be revealed in Caleb Carr’s newest book’s narrative. Unresolved personal issues, on the other hand, should be continued in a third chapter in the future.
