Rangiku Matsumoto Survived All of Her Near-death Experiences

Does Rangiku Die in Bleach

The narrative of Rangiku Matsumoto begins many years before the current timeline, when a young Gin Ichimaru, who was working alongside Aizen to gather souls for his own Hogyoku, saw her injured and in a near-death state.

When Gin saw the battered Rangiku, he vowed to get even with her because he liked her and to turn into a Shinigami in order to murder Aizen.

Later, Gin looked after Rangiku, and the two became good friends. Later, she was spotted protecting a young Toshiro Hitsugaya from a shady businessman. She also inspired him by claiming that his skills were harming his grandmother and congratulating them on becoming Shinigamis and enrolling in the Shinigami Academy.

It’s interesting to note that the two would subsequently collaborate with Captain Isshin Shiba in the 10th Division, with Matsumoto serving as his lieutenant and Toshiro becoming the youngest captain in history to succeed Shiba.

She first appears at the Lieutenants’ meeting in the primary timeline due to the Ryoka. Then, after Momo Hinamori and Kira Izuru have a brief altercation and Sōsuke Aizen is seemingly murdered, Tōshirō appears and gives Rangiku and the other Lieutenants the order to arrest Momo and Kira.

She later stops Gin’s blade because he nearly murdered Momo, which saddens Rangiku. In actuality, she has known Gin since she was a young child.

She and her Captain then pursue Kira Izuru to Central 46, where they find all the members who have been slaughtered. Subsequently, she and Kira engage in combat, but she prevails since her Shikai sword is composed of ash, and Kira is unable to utilize his Zanpakuto, Wabisuke, which makes everything it encounters heavier.

Kira comes to apologize in the end of the story, but Rangiku just tells him to forget it and gets drunk with him. She reportedly had the same behavior with Captain Isshin Shiba as she does with Kira and Hisagi.

In the anime filler arc known as the Bount Arc, Rangiku fights Sawatari alongside Sado Yasutora, Nova, and Ururu Tsumugiya. Using their combined Reiatsu, Rangiku and Nova locate Watari and are able to make him back off. Later on, Ugaki’s doll captures her in the Bount’s hiding place.

In Fake Karakura Town, she appears among the other Captains and engages in combat with Apacci, Mila Rose, and Sung-Sun, Haribell’s Fracciónes. After a while, though, it appears that Rangiku is losing, so Momo Hinamori comes to her rescue.

The two of them battle the three female Arrancar; Matsumoto is concerned that Momo is still in love with Aizen, but Momo demonstrates her resolve by defeating the Arrancar and identifying Aizen as the enemy.

Next, the Arrancar must use their Resurrección to call forth the beast Ayon, which viciously knocks Momo away and tears out Rangiku’s right rib. While Captain-Commander Yamamoto attended to Ayon and the Tres Bestias, Kira Izuru, a former member of the 4th Division, tends to Rangiku, whose injuries are unquestionably deadly. Captain Komamura arrives to guard Kira while he tends to the injured.

Although the therapy is not yet complete, Ichigo gets up and goes after Gin as they battle. The altercation between Ichigo and Gin, however, ends abruptly, and Gin and Aizen vanish through a portal into Soul Society, where they both enter the actual Karakura.

Aizen is going to kill Tatsuki until Don Kanonji shows up and attacks him suicidally a short while later. However, Rangiku eventually shows up and foils Don Kanonji’s schemes just in time.

She was talking to Gin when she first appeared in this story, and Gin threatened to kill her for “being in the way.” However, it turned out that he had no intention of doing this. Hakufuku was his “technique.”

It seems to have been intended to conceal her Reiatsu so that Aizen or someone else wouldn’t find out. He left her on a rooftop and returned to Aizen when she fainted on him once more. She woke up and hurried to Gin because she thought he was in danger.

She screamed for him to live, but Gin didn’t respond, most likely due to the injuries he received during the brief battle with Aizen that culminated in Gin’s death.

When Ichigo showed up, she and Gin noticed him. Rangiku has not been heard from since. She appeared to have lamented Aizen’s passing as well, but she recognized she needed to strengthen herself after witnessing Toshiro train, so she continued to train.

Matsumoto was the one who utilized Tanteikura to alert the other Captains of Cang Du’s theft of Toshiro’s Bankai, but it was already too late for Byakuya, Komamura, and Soifon. She was also spotted fighting Cang Du with her Captain during the initial invasion of Soul Society.

Later, she trained with her captain and devised a new strategy, which she called Operation Millefeuille, to fight the Sternritter without the Bankai. Additionally, Rangiku was challenged and defeated by Cang Du, who fatally wounded her, but Bazz-B was eventually too strong for Toshiro.

When Toshiro recovered his Bankai and vanquished Cang Du, Giselle Gewelle discovered their lifeless bodies and transformed them into zombies.

Mayuri ultimately beat Zombie Matsumoto and placed her and Toshiro in a unique capsule that entirely cured them, but at the expense of a significant portion of their lifespan. Nevertheless, Rangiku Matsumoto lived through the conflict with Yhwach and appeared in every scene that followed, alive and well.
