“Legend of the Lost Locket,” directed by Kevin Fair, centers on an antique dealer’s quest for a historic necklace that is rumored to bring true love to its user. Amelia Scott collects antique objects and relics. In search of the missing half of a necklace that symbolizes genuine love, she travels to Wilmaton, Massachusetts, a small hamlet.
Amelia encounters Marcus Forrest, the town’s sheriff, who is perplexed by her purpose but is prepared to assist in unraveling her mystery.
With Forrest’s assistance, Amelia goes to a lavish gala at a stately home, certain that she will discover the locket there. Throughout their trip, the treasure seekers in the Hallmark Channel mystery create a developing romance and engage in lighthearted humor.
They traverse the charming town and enter posh Victorian settings that appear to transport us back in time as they search for the locket.
Filming Locations of ‘Legend of the Lost Locket’
In British Columbia’s Greater Vancouver, “Legend of the Lost Locket” was filmed. According to reports, principal photography started on November 23, 2023, and was completed within a few weeks by December 14 of the same year. In post-production, the film’s original title, “The Hunt for Love,” was altered to “Legend of the Lost Locket.”
It seems that the crew and players had a great time working behind the scenes, and main actress Natasha Burnett was especially thrilled about filming the ballroom dance scene. On Instagram, actor Viv Leacock, who has previously played opposite Burnett as her on-screen companion, commented, “It was very cool to play characters that are exploring the beginning stages of a relationship together!”
Greater Vancouver, British Columbia
Since Wilmaton, Massachusetts, is a fictional hamlet, “Legend of the Lost Locket” was filmed at several locations throughout the coastal city of Vancouver. We get to see Vancouver’s skyscraper-dotted cityscape and a few of its parks throughout several scenes in the movie where Amelia and Marcus are traveling outside.
Greater Vancouver has a wide variety of neighborhoods and surrounding landscapes that may effectively capture the beauty of a tiny historic town, as portrayed in the film, even though it is a busy metropolitan area.
There are a number of communities in Vancouver with unique architectural designs that are evocative of those in the movie’s scenes. The cobblestone walkways, Victorian-era structures, and old businesses in neighborhoods like Gastown, Shaughnessy, Kerrisdale, and Strathcona evoke a sense of nostalgia and vintage appeal that can make the protagonists’ treasure search come to life.
The production was located at 3918 Still Creek Avenue in Burnaby and was produced by Hunt Films. Burnaby, a city close to Vancouver, is a suitable central location for productions since it allows the team to visit all areas of Greater Vancouver.
The city’s historical riches provide an enthralling setting for vintage hunting adventures like “Legend of the Lost Locket,” from the painstakingly restored structures of Burnaby Village Museum to the tranquil serenity of Deer Lake Park.
Together with Toronto, Vancouver is referred to as the Hollywood of the North. Its diverse filming settings and strong filming infrastructure often attract Hallmark projects to its boundaries. Love & Jane, Joyeux Noel, Fourth Down and Love, Sweeter Than Chocolate, and Napa Ever After are a few of these.
