‘Buying Beverly Hills’ on Netflix is a real estate docu-soap with opulent mansions at its center, but what really makes it interesting to watch are the brokers involved and their personal relationships. So, it should come as no surprise that a significant amount of The Agency revolves around the romance (and drama) between rookie realtor Sonika Vaid and colleague Kevin Stewart.

Sonika and Kevin Started Dating Soon After She Started Her Career
It seems as though they started dating in 2019 because it was Kevin who asked ‘American Idol’ season 15 finalist Sonika to be his girlfriend shortly after she entered the real estate industry. After all, according to her own story in the original, he had only recently broken up with his ex-girlfriend a few weeks earlier when he recruited her as his executive assistant/agent in March of that year, and things swiftly developed into more.
But every time the singer-turned-real estate agent brings on a new assistant or develops a romantic relationship with any of his female coworkers, particularly Amanda York, it’s undeniably a source of enormous insecurity for him.
Sonika acknowledged, “Kevin is a wonderful person,” at one time. However, he has dated numerous people from The Agency. Although I firmly believe that there is no romantic relationship between [him and Amanda] at the moment, I had the impression that they were very close when we first started dating.
He would sometimes say things like, “Oh, I’m going to the broker’s caravan with Amanda,” or “Oh, I’m having lunch with Amanda,” as if they were frightening. Because of this, she did ask him directly once if there had ever been chemistry between them, to which he flatly denied any such feelings and stated that their relationship had always been platonic.
Sonika was so taken aback to discover that her partner had deceived her and that they had kissed while intoxicated once at a party a few years earlier. Since they didn’t even know one another at the time, it wasn’t cheating in the slightest, but she had freely expressed her insecurities about it, and Kevin still hadn’t come clean.
Luckily, though, they both actively tried to have a lot more peaceful and open conversation that evening and the next morning in order to resolve everything, allowing them to move on.
Even while Sonika acknowledged that her confidence in Kevin had been damaged, she made it clear that the only thing at fault was the lie—especially because they had both had partners in the past and it really wasn’t that big of a concern.
The 26-year-old stated, “When I walk into a room, I don’t want people to look at us and be like, ‘I know something she doesn’t,'” and, after some prodding, acknowledged his error. Then, since he wanted to develop while keeping a good reputation, he kindly asked her not to bring up personal things at work functions (like it had happened here), which helped them to actually come to terms.
Sonika and Kevin Had Split Up A Long Time Ago
Sonika clearly had confidence issues, so it meant a lot that Kevin jumped in to comfort her as soon as she opened up to him and told him she really cared, even if she was holding back tears. He vowed, “I would never [intentionally hurt you].” I’d go to any lengths to help you, agree?
I need your trust in me as much as I need yours in you. I apologize. “This issue with Kevin is definitely all about becoming like an independent, strong woman who will stand up for herself and not take someone’s sh*t,” she later added in a confessional. Even though he apologized, I still feel a little “eh,” but I think we’ll be alright.
Sonika was tragically mistaken. Based on what is known, it appears that she and Kevin broke up in the early months of 2023, even if they both tend to keep their private lives out of the spotlight these days.
We make this allegation because, in addition to deleting all of their adorable pictures of each other from their social media accounts, they have stopped following each other and he recently sold the house they had purchased together. It didn’t work out for them that by the end of “Buying Beverly Hills,” season 1, they had made the decision to purchase a house and move in together.
