Famous ‘Wife Swap’ Couple Steven and Jodi Spolansky Split After Two Decades Following Their TV Appearance

The longest-running ABC series Wife Swap’s most memorable couple has announced their divorce.

Page Six reports that Steven and Jodi Spolansky separated quietly earlier this year. The site was able to get court records that indicate Steven, 58, filed for a contentious divorce in August 2023 and the couple came to an understanding in January. A month later, their divorce was officially approved by a judge in New York.

According to Page Six, the couple has been split apart for years, with Jodi, 56, residing in the Seattle region and Steven, mainly, in Miami.

The couple became well-known after they were featured in the 2004 second-ever episode of Wife Swap. As the name implies, the show’s concept involved two families from disparate origins exchanging spouses for ten days.

The Bradleys from New Jersey traded places with the Spolanskys, a thirtysomething couple in their 30s residing in New York City who ABC described as multimillionaires.

Jodi moved in with the Bradley family, whose hardworking character contrasted with her high-maintenance lifestyle.

Subsequently, 45-year-old bus driver Lynn Bradley relocated to New York to reside with the Spolansky family, which comprised Steven, their three children, four nannies, a cleaner, a cook, and a chauffeur. In a memorable scene from the show, Lynn informed Steven that she was firing the nannies. Steven said, “Are they taking the kids with them?” in response.

Steven and Jodi had three children at the time: a daughter, Peyton, who is now 22 years old, and two sons, Griffin, who is now 27. Since then, Lawson, now 18, and Chase, now 17, their kids, have been added.

The couple appeared on multiple TV discussion shows following the airing of their episode before vanishing from the public eye.

Lawson currently has over 220,000 followers on TikTok, making her an influencer. “Wife Swap ruined my family’s life,” he claimed in a video that was uploaded on January 17, 2024.

Please, could we just talk about something different? This is the last one. Lawson, who was born two years after the episode aired, declared, “This is it.” “Let’s just go on to something else and let me put it out there to let it go. However, it did indeed occur, and we now have fresh opportunities.

ABC ran Wife Swap from 2004 to 2013, then in 2019 Paramount brought the show back for two seasons. From 2012 to 2015, the franchise expanded with celebrity editions.
