Glen Powell is one of the few persons who can claim to get to party with Tom Cruise. After collaborating on Top Gun: Maverick, the two actors became good friends and had a great time at the Twisters premiere, where Tom supported Glen on this significant project.
Glen Powell recently opened up about his experience partying at the premiere with Tom Cruise. The two friends had a terrific evening with Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos, and Glen will always be appreciative of his mentor’s help.
Glen Powell On Having a Good Time at the “Twisters” Premiere With Tom Cruise
Glen Powell had a great time at the Twisters London premiere, in part because of Tom Cruise. Glen talked about having a “wild night” with Tom and his Twisters co-stars, spilling the beans on what transpired.
“Tom Cruise, TC, arrived. It was an exciting evening. Tom was beside me, Daisy Edgar-Jones was behind me, Tony Ramos was in front of me, and throughout the entire film, Tom was genuinely happy for me and the rest of us.
Tom Cruise was the best at getting the crowd excited, thus it seems that his presence increased everyone’s enjoyment.
“He’s turning to face Daisy and saying, ‘That was awesome.'” This movie is truly about people who want to entertain audiences, and he is such a rare character who really roots for everybody,” the actor said about Tom.
Glen said, “It was great, he was getting the audience riled up, laughing louder than everyone else, cheering.”
Since working together on Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise and Glen Powell have been close friends. However, unlike previous early encounters, this one involved Glen knowing to expect a wild night when the actor turned up.
Glen Powell Was Played A Horrifying Joke By Tom Cruise
It wasn’t always the case, but now that Glen Powell and Tom Cruise are close friends, they know to anticipate the unexpected. In fact, when they were first getting to know each other, the Mission: Impossible actor scared him a lot.
Glen was reminded not too long ago of a practical joke Tom pulled on him, one that left him scared for his life. After offering to take him back to London in his helicopter during a Top Gun: Maverick reshoot at Pinewood, the renowned actor chose to pretend that the engine was breaking down.
Glen said, “Tom goes ‘oh no, oh no,’ and he starts dropping the helicopter over London,” and that he was positive he was going to die in those few seconds. “I was like, ‘Am I about to be the unnamed guy that dies with Tom in a smoking hole in the middle of London?'”
Though Tom’s trick lasted only a few minutes, Glen won’t soon forget it. But despite this, they grew close friends, and Glen adores him despite all of his quirks.
