Paul C. Jerrard, a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman who played five games for the Minnesota North Stars in the National Hockey League (April 20, 1965 – February 15, 2023)
Jerrard served as an assistant coach with the National Collegiate Hockey Conference’s Omaha Mavericks (NCHC). Prior to this, he was the Texas Stars’ head coach in the AHL. He worked as an assistant coach first for the Calgary Flames and then for the American Hockey League’s Utica Comets.
Jerrard attended Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Saskatchewan, a renowned hockey school in Canada, and was selected by the New York Rangers in the ninth round of the 1983 NHL Draft. He left Canada to play college hockey at Lake Superior State University after being selected by the New York Rangers. He played all four seasons with the Lakers.
Following his graduation from LSSU, he signed with the IHL’s Colorado Rangers. In 1988, he was traded to the Minnesota North Stars, where he appeared in five games during the NHL’s 1988–89 season. He spent the remainder of his career in the minors after this brief stay in the NHL, concluding it with the Hershey Bears in 1997.
