Ant-Man 3, or Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania to give it its full name, is one of the many Marvel sequels coming to theatres in the next few years. It is the third adventure for Ant-Man and the Wasp, two heroes who can shrink down to tiny sizes. We bet that ten years ago, even the biggest Marvel fan would have laughed at the idea that this could happen.
But Ant-Man and the Wasp have both shown that they are important parts of the MCU, even if their superhero names are kind of silly. So, what can we look forward to in the upcoming third movie? And what in the world does the word “Quantumania” mean?
Ant-Man 3 Release Date
On February 17, 2023, Ant-Man 3 will be in theatres. It’s the first part of Phase 5, which starts a new time for the series.
The release date for the sequel has already changed a few times. It was first set to come out in 2022, but then it was pushed back to February 2023. But keep in mind that there will be a lot of other Marvel shows on Disney Plus to keep us busy until then.

After Quantum Mania, Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels and James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will both come out in 2023, not long after Ant-Man 3 comes out. So it’s not like Marvel fans will be starving for content before or after the sequel.
Who Will be in the Cast of Ant-Man 3?
Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will both be back as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp in Ant-Man 3. Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, two retired heroes played by Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer, will also be back. The news came from D23 that Randall Park will play Jimmy Woo again.
Strangely, actor Bill Murray told people that he might be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania. Variety says that Murray said he was in the movie, and that director Peyton Reed talked him into being in it.

Kathryn Newton, who was in Detective Pikachu, will also be in the show. She will play Scott Lang’s daughter, Cassie Lang. She takes the place of Emma Fuhrmann, who played Cassie briefly in Avengers: Endgame, and Abby Ryder Forston, who played Cassie as a younger girl in the first two Ant-Man movies.
Jonathan Majors from Lovecraft Country is also confirmed to play Kang the Conqueror, and Corey Stoll is said to be back as Darren Cross/Yellowjacket.
What is the Expected Plot of Ant-Man 3?
The plot of Ant-Man 3 is still a secret, but we know a few things about it. First of all, Bill Murray has been cast as a mysterious bad guy. We don’t know who he will be playing yet, but it looks like our heroes will have their work cut out for them.
In an interview for her movie South of Heaven, Evangeline Lilly told The Digital Fix that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the “best one yet” in the series. So we can be sure that whatever Marvel has in store for us, will be good.
Because of an interesting bit of casting news, we already know that Scott and Hope will have to deal with another bad guy in addition to Murray… Kang the Victory. Yes, the despot who can travel through time is going to the Quantum Realm for some reason. In September 2020, Deadline reported that Jonathan Majors, who was in the TV show Lovecraft Country, had joined Quantum Mania as Kang.
At the end of Loki, the star appeared briefly as He Who Remains, an alternate version of Kang who made the Time Variance Authority to stop another multiverse war with other Kang versions. But when Majors shows up in Quantumania, he will be playing a very different version of the famous bad guy. He had told GamesRadar before, “The character is different, so you move in a different way. The character has changed my mind.” He’s just not like other people.”
The actor then said, “He Who Remains is not in Ant-Man. It’s Kang. But the people around us, like my leading man Paul Rudd and the rest of the cast, are different. Also, “Because Paul isn’t Tom [Hiddleston]. This is not a TV show; it’s a movie. I’ve been here from the start, and Loki brought me in at the end.”

It’s not clear if this version of Kang will show up in the MCU for the first time in Quantum Mania or if he will come out of the Quantum Realm as the Avengers did in Avengers: Endgame. Ant-Man and the Wasp will have a tough fight on their hands, that’s for sure. Kang is a sadistic genius who has changed his name and title many times over the years. He has been known as Rama-Tut, Immortus, and even the hero Iron Lad. Comics!
