The sneak peeks for Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 7 has arrived. And let’s just say that the Dutton family is in for trouble.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
In Season 5, Episode 6, “Cigarettes, Whiskey, A Meadow, and You,” we saw John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and the rest of his cattle herding crew have two damn near perfect days of riding, bonding, celebrating, and branding cattle. But out in the fields, John had to say goodbye to his old friend Emmett Walsh (Buck Taylor), who died in his sleep under a tree while they were travelling. “Well, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to die,” John said as he ran back to the ranch to tell Emmett’s wife the news and comfort her.
The episode also showed Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser), who were as dreamy as ever, spending some quality time together in nature, Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Sarah (Dawn Olivieri) mixing business with pleasure, Summer (Piper Perabo) and Monica (Kelsey Asbille) getting to know each other at the ranch, and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) getting ready for an unannounced visit from the president and a fight (Christian Wassana).
We saw Luke Grimes’s character Kayce and Brecken Merrill’s character Tate fall in love with the John Dutton way of life. At the branding ceremony, we heard that John, Summer, and Lynelle (Wendy Moniz-Grillo) might be interested in each other. And Ryan (Ian Bohen) and Abby (Lainey Wilson) took their flirting to the next level.
Episode 6 was full of important parts. But the preview for Season 5, Episode 7 shows that there will be a lot more drama to come. We won’t know exactly how high the stakes are raised until Sunday. But until then, we can think about the new preview trailer from Paramount Network. We’re here to look at the preview for Episode 7 of Yellowstone frame by frame.
What’s In The Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 7 Preview?
The next time we see Yellowstone, the Dutton family will be in trouble. The preview for Season 5, Episode 7 starts with a voiceover from Costner saying, “This is my favourite part of everything we do. “I like this the most.”
Rip and Kayce are seen riding horses while more cattle are being herded. Kayce is seen riding up to John, Rip, and two other people, and we hear him say, “I found something you might want to see.”
The preview cuts to John riding up to the ranch, where he and Beth are inside having a drink. Beth tells him, “Your business plan is going to be the end of us.”
In the meantime, Jamie is dressed and ready to go to his office. He is sitting next to Sarah and someone else, and we hear Dawn Olivieri’s voice say, “The future of the cattle industry is no future. Your state will be responsible for about $4 billion.”
A fast-paced supercut shows Jamie looking at papers with his hand on his chin, Lynelle at her desk talking to Rainwater and looking stressed, John on the ranch talking to a blonde woman, Rip talking with Lloyd (Forrie J. Smith), and a man (who looks like Rip) walking away from a worried-looking Kayce.
In another voiceover, Olivieri is heard saying, “That sounds like a crime that could get you fired.” We can see Jamie slapping his hands together in anger and John sitting in the dark with a warm glow shining on his face.

At the end of the preview, we see Sarah and Jamie looking at each other through a window. Jamie just says, “Yes, it does,” in response to what she said earlier about something sounding like an impeachable offence.
Where Should I Stop the Season 5 Episode 7 Preview of Yellowstone?
As usual, it’s hard to tell too much from the Season 5, Episode 7 preview because it’s made up of short clips that don’t always make sense when put together. But there are a few parts of the preview that are worth a second look at.
What Did Kayce Come Across?
There are a lot of possible answers to this question, but while we wait to find out, we can look at how Kayce changed in Episode 6. Kayce told John he wanted to quit as Livestock Commissioner after Monica was hurt and they had to bury their son.
Monica told him not to quit his job because it wasn’t the job that caused them to lose their son. She also suggested that the whole family help brand the cattle, so Kayce and Tate rode off with John and the other ranch workers. Monica tells Summer in Episode 6 that Kayce no longer wants to take over the ranch, but it’s clear that Kayce and Tate are having a good time on their trip.
Tate and Kayce ride horses together, talk like father and son, and Tate learns how to herd cattle from Kayce. Kayce tells his father, “We needed this.” John tells him, “You could sell it, son.” You could put it in a bottle and sell it, but I don’t think anyone would buy it. Whoever knows how important it is is already doing it.”

Kayce seems to be falling back in love with being a cowboy after seeing Tate enjoy the John Dutton way of life and find comfort in nature after a tragedy. It’s clear that he’s thinking about things, so maybe he’ll soon think about his role in the family and with the ranch again.
Another warning from Beth
The daughter who already warned John about Summer being on the ranch this season now says that John’s business plan will kill them all. What is this plan for a business? Is she right? Will John listen to her at last? In Season 5, it looks like things are going to get even worse for the Dutton family.
Sarah and Jamie
A powerful pair or a doomed pair? Teasers for Yellowstone make it hard to tell if Jamie is on Sarah’s side or being used by her, and the preview for Episode 7 is no different. One minute, Sarah says, “There is no future for the cattle business. Your state will be responsible for about $4 billion,” Jamie says, and he looks defeated.
The next thing you know, the two of them are standing together, getting excited by talk of “irrefutable offences.” What are they doing?! In Episode 6, Jamie asked Sarah if she was sleeping with him just to be with him, and she told him that wasn’t the case.

Jamie gives in and says, “If you help me get elected governor, I’ll give you your airport.” I don’t think any of us are sure that Sarah is only dating Jamie for Jamie, so there’s still a chance that all this plotting will come back to bite him in the end.
“A Reason to Remove a President”
At the end of the preview, there is a shot of Sarah and Jamie looking at each other through a window. They are happy to have found “an impeachable offence.” (Most likely one that John did!) Find out anything about the wolves? Summer? Something else?! John, be careful!
