Sony’s Morbius was a critical and financial failure, but despite the lack of a sequel following Jared Leto’s debut as the Marvel character, there have been some updates for Morbius 2.
Since its April 1st, 2022, domestic premiere, Morbius has received a distinctly cold welcome from viewers, with critics scolding the film for its antiquated plot, strange narrative structure, and visual effects.
Fans put it at 71 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, but considering its $75 million production costs and $73 million domestic box office receipts, the film is a failure.
Nonetheless, it appears that Sony still has ambitious intentions for its Marvel franchises. The “Living Vampire” made its big-screen debut in Morbius, which is set in the same universe as Venom.
Sony’s Morbius is the genesis story of its antihero, as Dr. Michael Morbius (played by Jared Leto) attempts to treat the uncommon blood ailment that is ailing him and ends up becoming a superpowered vampire.
