The Charlotte family from One Piece and its members have been discussed on this site numerous times. The two most significant and pertinent people from the family that we have discussed in most of the cases are Charlotte Katakuri and Big Mom; Katakuri is most recognized for his rivalry with Luffy, while Big Mom was an Emperor.
However, we will discuss another significant family member in this piece, Charlotte Cracker, who had a very unpleasant experience with Aokiji, a former Marine who is now a pirate. Cracker and many others were frozen by Aokiji, but are they still alive? To learn what became of Cracker and the others, continue reading!
No, Cracker Was Not Killed by Aokoji, but the Circumstances Are Complex
Pudding anxiously examines the book where Niji and Yonji were imprisoned at the conclusion of the conflict on Totto Island (part of the Whole Cake Island Arc), but he confronts Rabiyan and punches them for harassing Sanji.
Soon after, she storms off while Oven gets ready to carry the book through a mirror to Whole Cake Island. The precise reasons for this are now known, but we presume that Oda will provide additional information later. Blackbeard’s crew also infiltrates the island at the same time as the Vinsmokes arrive and is ready to take Charlotte Pudding. This leads us to Cracker’s role in the narrative.
During this time, Cracker was first getting well from his wounds and was completely recovered when his sister, Charlotte Brûlée, opened a portal beside him and told him about the Vinsmoke incursion.
Now that he was well and energized, Cracker went right away to look into the new circumstance with his sister. To explore the Vinsmokes, the two of them entered Chocolat Town through the portal, only to discover that they were about to encounter a new group of adversaries.
Specifically, they discovered Blackbeard’s crew abducting their sister Pudding while they were looking into the Vinsmokes. Naturally, they stepped in right away, but Kuzan, the head of this party, was too strong for them.
Kuzan was unquestionably one of the strongest Marines, and his ability to control ice made him a highly dangerous enemy. He was also one of the most useful and dangerous members of Blackbeard’s crew when he joined the pirates after leaving the World Government. For this reason, the latter dispatched Kuzan to get Pudding.
Therefore, as we have stated, it was only logical for Cracker and his sister to oppose Kuzan in order to defend their sister. The only real action they could take was that. However, they faced a formidable foe.
As soon as he saw them, Kuzan used his powers to freeze Chocolat Town and Cracker, casting doubt on his fate in the series (you can see his frozen figure in the anime screenshot at the top of this page). Even while we can all agree that Kuzan did not kill Cracker directly, many fans believe that he is dead because he ended up frozen. So is he?
No, we can reaffirm that Charlotte Cracker is alive, meaning that Kuzan did not murder him in Chocolat Town. He was frozen, but eventually the ice will melt and Cracker will quickly return to normal.
It wouldn’t really make much narrative sense for Cracker to die in this manner, since Kuzan’s attack wasn’t particularly deadly. Although the official sources do not currently name Cracker as deceased, we can understand how some fans could have believed that this was his final moment.
Of course, Oda might alter his mind at any time, but given his character and One Piece’s reasoning, this doesn’t seem like a very realistic situation. We do know, however, that later in the series, we will learn more about Cracker’s whereabouts.
