The Netflix series that broke all records One of the most watched children’s television programs ever, if not the most watched program ever, is now Cocomelon. Cocomelon may be crossing more boundaries than just breaking the record for the longest run among Netflix’s top ten most watched series.
One of the show’s numerous songs pays homage to the Watts family, even though it’s regarded as a children’s program. Parents who happened to tune in instantly recognized the names of the Watts family.
Is it therefore feasible that Cocomelon’s characters in Netflix’s American Murder are based on the Watts family murders? That sounds a little odd, particularly for a program like Cocomelon, which gained so much popularity by offering young children an hour of cheerfully animated nursery rhymes as a means of calming them down.
Could ‘Cocomelon’ have any connection to the Watts family?
People started to question whether Cocomelon is genuinely based on the Watts family when they heard the names of the Watts children—Cece, Bella, and Nico—as schoolchildren in one of the songs.
Furthermore, the sole interesting detail on Cocomelon’s official IMDb page is that the company is commemorating the memories of CeCe, Bella, and Nico Watts, whose lives were taken in 2018 by their father, Chris Watts.
The topic of whether Cocomelon is based on the Watts family has also been discussed in numerous Reddit posts. One person said, “That episode was dedicated to Bella, Celeste, and Baby Nico (Shanann’s children).”
That has already been verified by the creator. They did not, however, offer any links to support this.
‘Cocomelon’s’ References to the Watts Family Murders Certainly Not Kid-friendly
The Watts family murders are the horrific acts of a father who killed his wife and two children in 2018. Nico was the planned name of his unborn son, who was being carried by Shannan, his wife.
The sight of the three Watts children together on a tranquil children’s show like Cocomelon is unsettling, given the news of Chris Watts’s savage murder of his wife and two daughters, Bella and Cece, was widely publicized.
But one Reddit user posted, “I adore the idea that they might all be playing together, grinning, and singing. Thinking of them happy and together is heartwarming. That’s a really lovely way to consider what a lot of other people claimed alarmed them.
It’s encouraging to consider contented kids playing as their afterlife if it turns out that Cocomelon is actually paying homage to the lives lost of those kids.
‘Cocomelon’ Takes More of Its Inspiration From the Creator’s Own Family Than From the Watts Family
The main family in Cocomelon is its main character, and since the show’s launch in 2006, it is unquestionably not based on the Watts family, who gained notoriety in 2018.
Nonetheless, Jay Jeon, one of Cocomelon’s creators who primarily wants to remain under the radar, told The Guardian about how he and his wife came up with the idea for the fruit.
“We’ve made an effort to design lovable, endearing, and broadly relatable characters. We started to consider JJ, YoYo, and TomTom to be our fictitious children, and we gradually created a family around them that included parents, grandparents, animal companions, and fellow students.
Fifteen years after Jay and his wife started Cocomelon as a hobby to amuse their son, it’s the hottest show for youngsters. Furthermore, memorializing the dead or mentioning them in nursery rhymes is nothing new: recall “Ring Around the Rosie”?
