Hoda Kotb has consistently maintained her conviction that dreams do come true! While covering the Olympics in Paris, the Today host was able to cross off a dream of hers by meeting one of her all-time favorite celebs.
Hoda,59, posted a picture of herself with Tom Cruise, whom she met at the Olympics, on her Instagram profile on July 27.
“When did you dream that you would meet Tom Cruise? And then it does, at last,” she wrote as the post’s caption. The Top Gun star had a smile on his face and damp hair, while the NBC personality protected himself from the rainy weather in Paris with a poncho.
During a Monday, July 29, Today show, Hoda talked about the momentous occasion and recalled costar Jenna Bush Hager’s response to the picture. She asks, “Did your dream include a terrible poncho?'” when I mention that I’ve always kind of dreamed of this very situation. stated Hoda.

While watching the opening ceremony, Savannah Guthrie, who is also on assignment in Paris, recalled what it felt like to see Tom.

Days after the opening ceremony, Hoda, a major supporter of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team, attended women’s gymnastics events. Tom was there too, watching the gymnasts compete on the mat.
“He said, ‘Oh, you’re here [to cover the Olympics],’ after recognizing you. And he went with you to the gymnastics [event]. “You guys continue to hang out,” Savannah said to the audience of Today.
Hoda has had an incredible start to the Olympics, but she also admitted that it was hard to leave her two daughters, Hope and Haley, at home. Nonetheless, the mother of two did reveal the adorable ways she is keeping in touch with her daughters while she is away.
Hoda said on Instagram that she had constructed adorable clocks to tell her kids the time difference between their home in New York and Paris. She wrote, “Clocks for my kids,” as the cute photo’s description.
In addition, Hoda disclosed her second endearing act for her girls while she is abroad on a July 22 episode of Today.
“I do a daily loop where we hide small items like stickers or hair ties, and then they know how many days are left,” she told her costars.
