Stephen Greif Death: What Happened With ‘The Crown’ Star?

The Hollywood actor Stephen Greif has died. The talented actor who was best known to Americans for his part in the hit Netflix show The Crown has died. In the fourth season of the British royal family drama, he played Speaker of the House Sir Bernard Weatherill.

On Monday, December 26, 2022, Stephen Greif’s agent told the world that the actor had died. As of right now, the real reason why the British actor died has not been made public. Joseph and Daniel, his twin sons, will carry on his name.

Greif was best known for playing Travis in Blake’s 7, Harry Fenning in three series of Citizen Smith, Signor Donato in Casanova, and Commander John Shepherd in Shoot on Sight.

Stephen Greif was born in the English town of Sawbridgeworth in Hertfordshire on August 26, 1944. He used to go to Sloane Grammar School, where he was the best at both swimming and running.

Stephen also played sports for his school and county, including at the White City Stadium and other places. He went to Regent Street Polytechnic for a while before getting jobs as a troubleshooter at a company that made TVs and radiograms and as a negotiator at a small West End real estate agency. He then applied to drama school.

Greif also went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and graduated with honours. There, he won many awards, including Best Actor and Most Promising Actor. He also worked with the National Theater Company.

Stephen’s career as an actor on stage and screen began in the late 1960s with the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company in Britain. He was nominated for several awards, including an Olivier Award in 1979 for his role as Biff in “Death of a Salesman” at the National Theatre.

Greif was best known for his roles as space commander Travis in the 1970s sci-fi show Blake’s 7 and as pub owner Harry Fenning in the sitcom Citizen Smith.

Stephen also played roles in British TV shows such as Coronation Street, EastEnders, and Doctor Who. He also acted in movies like Gerry, Risen, Woman in Gold, Bill, D is for Detroit, Lasse Hallstrom’s Casanova, Shoot on Sight, Eichmann, Spartan, The Upside of Anger, Boogie Woogie, and Fakers.
