A Plague Story: The Requiem Ending Explained- Amicia’s Fight Against All Odds Comes to a Tragedy!

A Plague Tale by Asobo Studio took everyone on a ride full of adventure and great stories. A Plague Tale: Innocence, the first game in the series, told the story of the game’s main characters. In A Plague Tale: Innocence, the brave de Rune siblings Amicia and Hugo fought against all odds. The setting of the game was interesting to the players. Who wouldn’t want to go on an exciting adventure in France where the plague was spreading?

All of the critics agreed that the 14th-century French setting and the way the story was told caught their attention. So, in October 2022, they released A Plague Tale: Requiem, which is the sequel to the first game. As everyone thought, it was even better than the first game in the series.

So, there are a lot of good questions that can be asked about its unusual ending. In the second book, Amicia is desperate and going through a lot. Imagine how Amicia felt when the twists made everyone cry. She does some strange things in a last-ditch effort to keep the world away from her brother. When something like this happens, it does make you wonder where the story is going and how it will end.

A Plague Story: The Requiem Ending Explained

As you know, A Plague Tale: Innocence was all about how Amicia and Hugo got to be who they are and what they did. The story of the siblings’ struggles and adventures continues in the next book, A Plague Tale: Requiem.

Amicia and Hugo have an interesting relationship. Because of how complicated their blood relationship was, both of them became pretty strong people. Amicia is very protective of her brother, and when things went wrong, she used violence more than once to get what she needed.

A Plague Story: The Requiem Ending Explained

This game looks at how Amicia feels about turning into a violent person and doing things she’s not used to. It also makes the player feel like she does. Not only that, but she also killed everyone close to her, including Beatrice and Lucas, who were important in the first movie. In A Plague Tale: Requiem, she did these hard things to protect her brother Hugo.

Also, Shakespearean tragedies are mixed into the story in a segmented way. In this game, Hugo and Amicia are a team to be afraid of. But tragedy strikes both of them because of the choices they make. In A Plague Tale: Requiem, this leads to a sad turning point in Amicia’s life.

Beatrice, who is a close friend of Amicia, is killed in a ritual. Not only that, but after Macula completely took her brother Hugo, Amicia had to kill him. She did everything she could to keep him safe, but she had to kill her brother in the end. Hugo gives himself over to Macula when he sees how Emilie and Victor plan to kill Beatrice and how Emilie kills Beatrice. He felt stressed because he had to do things with his powers, so he lost his mind and embraced the swarms of rats.

Hugo was still a good person, though. When he realises that what he is doing is causing a lot of damage, he tells his sister Amicia to kill him and stop the rats from destroying the city. After that, Amicia had no choice but to kill him, which added more pain to her life and made her the sad main character of this game.

What does A Plague Story’s Future Hold?

The studio said that they don’t have any concrete plans for the game’s future. They made the ending to let the fans know that such curses do not always go away. But we have seen studios make sequels to popular games after fans asked for them on social media in large numbers. This game series is popular, and if enough people ask for a sequel to the second part, the studio might add more to the story for the third game.
