The career of Doja Cat
2012-2017
Her entire life became chaotic and disturbing after she stopped attending school. She spent the entire day and night online searching for new rhythms and instruments from YouTube while sleeping on the floor in her room by herself.
She used a variety of brand-new musical genres that she downloaded for the early music songs that she posted on her sound cloud.
She developed her rapping, singing, and use of the garage band by spending days at home, creating various types of music that she then uploaded to Soundcloud. Dlamini, who at the time had a strong addiction to marijuana and the weed scene, obtained her stage name from one of her cats and the name of her preferred marijuana strain.
She uploaded “So high” permanently to SoundCloud in 2012, and Dr. Luke noticed it. At the age of 17, he signed her to RCA Records and Kemosabe Records.
The song “Purrr,” which was Doja Cat’s maiden release, was released in August 2014. Prior to the Purrr, her So High album was repackaged and made available as her solo commercial debut single.
Doja Cat joined OG Maco’s label in the middle of 2013. In 2016, she also worked on a “Monster” song with Maco.
