You didn’t think Southern Charm could escape Thanksgiving without trouble, did you?
Kathryn Dennis faced internet trolls during the holidays after a selfie she uploaded with co-star Austen Kroll led some to speculate about a possible pregnancy.
The reality TV personality and mom-of-two promptly shut down body shamers who commented “Someone looks prego” and “Pregnant?” on the celebratory post.
“No, I’ve gained weight,” Kathryn replied matter-of-factly.
Austen went to his friend’s rescue, adding on the post, “Some of these folks are insane. Thankful for you! Oh, and my stomach is still recuperating!”
And in true KD flair, she didn’t let haters mar her holiday. In a separate piece, the Bravolebrity looked back on her transforming year.
“So stinking glad today,” she wrote. “For my friends, family, life. I hope everyone enjoys their day. If you reflect back on your life, despite the ups and downs, there’s so much to be thankful for.
I hope everyone knows how amazing they are and how unique life is in this sense of who we inspire and who inspires us. It’s the basic stuff.”
Ashley Jacobs’ Instagram profile was equally reflective when she began dating Kathryn’s ex and father of her two children, Thomas Ravenel.
“For all the craziness we went through together this past year, the good really does outweigh the bad,” Ashley captioned a photo montage of the on-again, off-again relationship.
“You can’t go through something like that and pretend like it never happened, that the person who helped you through bad times meant nothing to you.
You were my boyfriend during a point in my life when I needed you and you needed me. I don’t know how much I believe in fate, but if it exists, it brought you and me together for a reason… even if we weren’t made to endure forever “she said.
Her poignant dedication concluded, “We may not be making new memories anymore, but I still appreciate the ones we have, and I’d do it all again knowing how things turned out.
Thank you for the memories, good and terrible. I’ll cherish them until I die. I was lucky to meet you, Thomas. I look forward to being friends for a long time.”
Just weeks ago, the exes aired their dirty laundry for Southern Charm fans to see when Thomas lambasted Ashley for “bad mouthing” Kathryn.
“I absolutely reject this awful behavior and will have nothing to do with her,” Thomas said in a since-deleted post. He later added in the comments, “I begged her over and over to no effect. So hateful. Hope she receives help.”
Now Thomas has altered his tune again.
He responded to Ashley’s post, “Our time together brought outside pressure, yet they didn’t see how I appreciated your presence. I pray you’ll be spared more senseless fury. I wish you well, Ashley. Only good stuff. Always Thomas.”
Kathryn Dennis’s first paid work was as a receptionist when she was in high school.
