Where Is Elisabeth Fritzl Now? Know What Happened To The Girl In The Basement

When Elisabeth was imprisoned, she was 18 years old, and when she escaped in 2008, she was 42. Her eldest kid, whom she had given birth to as a result of her father’s actions, required immediate medical attention. As a result, Elisabeth was permitted to take the infant to the hospital by her father. She had seen sunshine for the first time in 24 years. She was promptly sent to the basement, but a strange message left behind by Josef piqued the hospital staff’s interest, prompting the police to arrive.

She was found and saved shortly after. According to Meaww, she and her children were taken into state custody and then relocated to a hamlet in Northern Austria, where they began counseling. Due to the trauma, they had all experienced, psychologists first recommended lifetime counseling. Elisabeth received a new name and assumed a new persona.

She is said to live in a bright and well-lit home with her children to avoid reminiscing about the past. Her children are now in their late teens and early twenties, ranging in age from 17 to 35 years old. Two of the six youngsters suffered from severe anxiety and panic attacks, making recovery more difficult. They were kept on mood-altering medicines, exercise, and diet regimens during their recuperation because of their previous lifestyle.

According to The Independent, Elisabeth and her mother Rosemarie Fritzl had a rough relationship initially, but have since grown closer and restored their connection. Josef Fritzl, who is apparently suffering from dementia, has been condemned to a lifetime of imprisonment in Garsten Abbey. To remain anonymous in his final days, he has changed his surname to Mayrhoff.
