The film ZeroZeroZero is based on Roberto Saviano’s eponymous book and tells the storey of the worldwide cocaine trade’s purveyors, as well as the Lynwood family and others engaged.
The programme was conceived by Stefano Sollima (‘Sicario: Day of the Soldado’) with writers Leonardo Fasoli (‘Gomorrah’) and Mauricio Katz (‘The Bridge’). It launched on Amazon Prime in February 2020.
It received critical acclaim for its multi-layered storey, kaleidoscopic look at corruption and the drug trade, high-octane action scenes, and engaging performances from a varied ensemble.
Fans are wondering whether there will be a second season of ‘ZeroZeroZero,’ after receiving excellent comments from reviewers and audiences. To summarise, here is what we know.
Release Date for Season 2 of ZeroZeroZero
On March 6, 2020, the first season of ‘ZeroZeroZero’ launched on Amazon Prime. It’s broken down into eight 45-50 minute halves. The drug drama will premiere on Sky Atlantic in Italy on February 14, 2020, before being released on Prime Video.
The following is what we know about Season 2 thus far. Popularity may not be a problem, given the show’s relatively large viewership. Furthermore, if you’re interested in continuing the tale beyond the first season, the writers have ample source material to do so.
Season 2 of ‘ZeroZeroZero’ is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on June 21, 2022.
Plot of ZeroZeroZero Season 2
Season 1 tracks a major cocaine shipment through Lynwood’s shipping firm from the makers, i.e. Mexican cartel bosses, to the distributors, i.e. Italian drug criminals.
Following a tragic event in the Lynwood family, Ed’s daughter unwillingly takes over his father’s kingdom, becoming enmeshed in the criminal underworld and putting her life at risk.
Chris, who suffers from Huntington’s disease and is deaf, helps his deaf sister Emma salvage the family company.
And the brother-sister team works to stay one step ahead of the global market’s power struggle while staying away from anti-drug agents.
Season 2 might go even further into the dark and scary underbelly of the Mexican drug trade, as well as the consequences for those engaged.
In the future, we may witness more of Chris and Emma’s codependent sibling relationship. There’s a potential we’ll discover more about the role of Mexican anti-drug cops in apprehending informants and criminals during the drug war.
