Hustle is a British crime comedy series starring Adrian Lester and Robert Vaughn. The show, which was produced by Kudos Film and Television and broadcast on BBC One in the United Kingdom, was conceived by Tony Jordan.
After eight seasons, the show premiered on February 24, 2004, and ended on February 17, 2012. The Hustler Plot
Each episode follows a group of con artists as they carry out the “long con,” frequently focusing on a “mark” whose actions are immoral and illegal, or whose character maintains a fundamentally negative personality with others they dislike, or who they exploit, all while adhering to the philosophy “you can’t cheat an honest man.”
Despite their status as con artists, the group adheres to a moral and ethical code that includes occasionally assisting others who have been victims of their mark, often through anonymous financial compensation, and never stealing anything that does not belong to them, preferring instead to borrow and return items.
The team conducts background research on each mark to identify any challenges they may be facing as well as any weaknesses they may possess, such as a passion for something they enjoy or a current problem.
