CBS airs the thriller ‘Salvation.’ Liz Kruger, Craig Shapiro, and Matt Wheeler have adapted the Bruce Willis-starring science fiction film Armageddon for the small screen.
The film follows the events as they unfold after an MIT student discovers that an asteroid capable of destroying all life on Earth is due to strike in six months.
The new show ‘Salvation,’ which premiered on July 12th, 2017, had 13 episodes in its first season, which aired in 2017.
Although it received poor critical reception and only a moderate response from viewers, it was given a second season renewal on October 18, 2017.

Salvation Season 3 Release Date
There will be no third season of ‘Salvation,’ so we will never learn more about the Earth’s population or Samson. The show was cancelled by CBS on November 20, 2017.
CBS decided to cancel “Salvation” at the end of Season 2 due to the show’s poor critical reception and a drop in audience and ratings of 36% and 24%, respectively.
Salvation Season 3 plot
One major theme in “Salvation” revolves around America’s defense against an incoming asteroid. As the race to avoid disaster gets bloodier and bloodier, so does the amount of violence and drama.
Asteroid Liam attempts to notify the US government of its imminent collision with Earth in the first few minutes of the episode Multiple attempts to speak with US Deputy Secretary of Defense Harris Edwards were successful thanks to millionaire scientist Darius Tanz.
Harris tells Liam and Darius that the US government is aware of the impending collision and has been working to prevent disaster.
He also warns them that the global political and economic system will come to an end if the truth is not suppressed.
Initially, this is correct, but as the play progresses, and finally at the end, the truth is revealed. Nations will go to war, resistance groups and cults will rise, and the world will descend into anarchy as a result of the global economic and political system collapsing.
Season 2 concludes on a cliffhanger with the revelation that Samson is not an asteroid at all, raising questions about Darius’ strategy for dealing with the asteroid.

“Salvation is stereotypical summer television—a low-stakes diversion that may pass the time nicely for undemanding audiences without ever being particularly memorable,” according to Rotten Tomatoes’ critical consensus, is how the film has been viewed critically.
The Hollywood Reporter noted that “a meteor is about to strike Earth” in its review of the episode. You’d be better off watching something else than this CBS summer snoozer.
